Warmest greetings, Virtual Yogins.

As I flipped on the radio this morning and listened to chatter about the election, one of the things that immediately occurred to me is how anchors were so focused on the past and the future. Broadcasters’ thoughts were everywhere except the present moment. It is no wonder that a recent survey from the American Psychological Association and Harris Poll found the upcoming election to be a significant source of stress. Add the pandemic to the mix and you have a crazy cocktail of stress.

I am here to help you ease your election stress.

Please join me tonight (Monday) for Yin and Yoga Nidra meditation at 8pm CT where we will focus on the simple concept of staying in the moment.

I began my virtual classes as a result of the lock down and created an easy sign up on my website. Group classes can be incredibly powerful to shift perspective and calm the body and mind which can help us through difficult times. I have found this to be true of virtual classes, as well. My early morning ‘Rise and Shine’ Karma Class has become a true community of friends which will last far longer than these uncertain times. Here is an article about the power of group meditation. If you haven’t checked out my independent virtual classes yet, I would love to see you!

Tier Pricing: Classes are tier priced, based on your personal circumstances, making yoga accessible to everyone, no matter what hardships these times may have brought you.

Class packs are also available for purchase… tier priced for the times.

I am offering an Extended practice with Yoga Nidra and Yin in a few weeks.

Join me for a HypnaGarden Rest & Manifest Extended Practice, Sunday, November 29th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. This Virtual practice will include pranayama, a full and passive yin and restorative yoga practice, mudras, and deeply transformative Yoga Nidra with a touch of sacred sound. Props recommended: Pillows or Bolsters, Yoga Blocks, blankets or towels and a strap. Regular priced class placks will get you into this extended practice, too!

I currently offer one vinyasa class a week with my husband. It gives it more a feel of a studio class because I can cue to your body more easily if you show yourself. Please join us Tuesdays at 4:30pm Central Time.

Finally, I just wanted to check in about the live studio experience. As many of you know, I am teaching only a few live classes. Some of you may have attended my early Saturday morning class in Glen Ellyn at 7:30 in the morning at Yoga By Degrees. This class was recently removed from the schedule and I am considering offering a virtual Saturday morning class. Please let me know what format you would prefer if you are interested . It could be vinyasa or passive class.

If some of you have been considering jumping into one of my live studio classes at Yoga by Degrees, I would like to assure you that I teach very mindfully. I teach in a Halo mask ($5 coupon link at the bottom of this email), so I can face students and cue to the postures properly and conscientiously. I no longer teach any rigorous pranayama in live classes and only teach nostril breath (no open mouth exhales). In general, all live studios are really struggling right now and could use your support. My live classes will remain mindful. I only have 3 live classes left on my teaching schedule: Mondays at 9:30am Wheaton (vinyasa), Tuesdays at 9:30am Glen Ellyn (vinyasa) and 1:30pm Downers Grove (restorative). They could use support to remain on the schedule.

Finally, I wanted to let you know about Gizel’s Mask Mandatory Vinyasa class on Sundays in Wheaton at Yoga by Degrees. If I am not teaching an extended practice, I will see you there. Come practice with me. Currently, it is at 5:30pm but it may move to an earlier time.

If you are still reading this, thank you! It was a lot! That is it for now. Stay safe. Stay well. Stay in the solution. Stay in the light.

From the light of gratitude in my heart to yours. Namaste.

Kristin

PS: Here is a link for a $5 off coupon for a Halo mask.
