
At the heart of Sassi Pants Yoga is Kristin Sassi who teaches Yoga as a design for living. She specializes in moving students through Yoga as a path towards peace under duress, whether a high-stress career, trauma, recovery from addiction, personal tragedy, or even managing every-day stress. Rooted in compassion and a deep respect for the traditions, her teachings channel the timeless, healing wisdom of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita. Award-winning speaker, musician, performer, yogin, and teacher, she shares her full heart in every class.

She teaches equanimity, ease in action, a calmness and clarity that endures even in chaos. She guides students through meditation in her very own style of Yoga Nidra, where seeds of intention are planted and manifested. In her vigorous Vinyasa Flow class, her students tap into their inner warrior, gaining flexibility and strength. She teaches the passive practices of Yin and Restorative Yoga to open the body and relax the mind. Every class is infused with Sacred Sound Healing, using crystal and Tibetan bowls, and other percussive instruments designed to calm the mind and open the chakras. Finally, she teaches the elements and traditions of yoga that truly make it yoga: the asanas (postures), pranayama (breath), mudras (meditation hand seals), mantras (sacred affirmations), and meditation.

Prior to her yoga journey, Kristin was singer/songwriter. Her musical experience has influenced how she approaches her sound bath meditations and the way she uses traditional sacred instruments.

For years, yogis have enjoyed Kristin's teachings locally in her county just west of Chicago. In the spirit of Arjuna who found calm in the face of defeat, after the closing of the studios in the height of the pandemic, she turned this setback into an opportunity to share the heart of her teachings, virtually, to anyone in the world.
